Alaska Salmon Cheese Bake
Ingredients
8-9 slices of bread
1 1/2 cups grated cheese (Your choice; recipe calls for cheddar.)
6 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp dill weed
dash of salt and pepper
1/4 cup sliced green onion
1 Tsp melted butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F. Cut bread slices into diamonds. Butter a 9″ pie pan. Cover bottom of pan with bread overlapping pieces of bread. Then form a “crown” by propping more bread around the edge of the pan, each piece overlapping the next. Top with 1/2 cup of the grated cheese.
Whisk together the remaining ingredients except the melted butter until well blended.
Spoon into the pie pan evenly and then top with the remaining cheese. Place in the oven and begin checking at about 20 minutes. Cook until the middle is set (20-40 minutes). If the bread begins to brown, cover with foil and continue baking until done.
