Shelia’s Sausage and Egg Casserole

Our friend from St. Matthew’s, Shelia, shared this recipe with Sherry. She wrote it on a note card.
Ingredients
1 lb. pork sausage
6 slices bread
1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
5 eggs
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp salt
pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups of milk
1 stick of butter
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350.
Brown sausage and set aside. Butter bread on both sides. Cut into cubes.
Mix eggs, milk and dry ingredients and set aside.
Lightly grease a 9 x 13 glass baking dish. Add bread cubes to bottom of the dish. Spread sausage on top; then add egg mixture, spreading evenly. Top with grated cheese. Bake 40-45 minutes.
