Chinese Pork Ribs

I picked up some “Chinese” pork ribs at the Foodarama with the intention of cooking them in the crockpot. Just about every recipe I’ve seen calls for pork ribs to cook for 8 hours or so. I cooked these on low, and they were done in four hours.

Ingredients

3 pounds Chinese style pork ribs (These typically are cut into short pieces.)
ketchup
honey
ginger (I used ground; fresh would work better probably.)
white pepper
garlic powder
onion powder
sherry
soy sauce
cooking oil

Directions

Combine a cup of ketchup or so with a quarter cup or so of soy sauce. Stir in about a quarter cup of honey and a quarter cup of sherry. Season with dry ingredients.

Heat a few tablespoons of cooking oil in a skillet. Brown off the ribs on all sides and transfer to the slow cooker. Stir to coat.

Cook on low for 4 hours or longer if needed.
