Shrimp Boil
Tonight I fixed up some boiled shrimp for Sherry. I peeled and deveined close to five pounds of head-on wild. (They were fairly small.) Seasoned them up with pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder.
I brought about a half gallon of water to boil with a tablespoon or so of Zatrarain’s Shrimp boil. Prepared a bowl of ice water and placed it on stove next to pot of water. I added the shrimp a bit at a time, and cooked for 1 or 2 minutes. I tested a shrimp by removing from pot and dropping in the ice water. Literally in a minute and a half or so, they were done.
I used a slotted spoon to remove the shrimp from the cook pot to the ice bath. Then from the ice bath to another bowl; and repeated the operation, replenishing the ice bath with fresh ice.
Took me three rounds to get it all cooked. VERY good!
