Dwayne’s Chess Pie

Dwayne sent me this recipe. He served it for Mother’s Day.

 
Ingredients
– 2 cups white sugar
– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– 5 eggs
– 2/3 cup buttermilk
– 1/2 cup melted butter
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
 
Directions
– Prep – 30 minutes; – Cook 45 minutes; Ready in 1 hr. 20 minutes.
– Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C.)
– Combine sugar and flour. Beat in the eggs and buttermilk until blended. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla. Pour filling into the pie crust.
– Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until filling is set.
