Tipton’s BBQ Sauce

I’m not sure, but I believe this recipe appeared in the Covington Leader a few decades ago. I got it from my mother.

Ingredients

6 tablespoon salt
6 tablespoon chili powder
4 cups ketchup
4 cups white vinegar
4 cups water
1 onion
1/2 cup sorghum

Instructions

Bring all the ingredients to a boil. Reduce to a gentle simmer and cook for 1 1/2 hours. Stir often.
