Sherry’s Fruit Cobbler

1/2 cup butter (8 T)
1 cup plain flour
1 cup sugar
1 T baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 cups fruit or pie filling


Melt butter in a 10 inch baking dish and set aside. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder. Add milk to dry ingredients and gently stir JUST until blended. Avoid over stirring. (It could make the crust TOUGH.)

Spoon dough evenly over the butter; do not mix or spread. Pour fruit over the dough and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until crust begins to brown.
